“I love my fans, I love my heritage. I take great pride in being Hualapai. Rafting the Colorado River and visiting Grand Canyon West will be a great opportunity to show my fans firsthand the beautiful land that my people come from,”
said Gordon.
Gordon is seventh of eight children. His mother, Camille Nighthorse, is an active member of the Tribe and also in show business. His grandmother, Mabelene Mahone, resides in Peach Springs, the Capital of the Hualapai Nation. Gordon's Great Uncle, Weldon Mahone, actually helped grade the land for the project that included the original dirt runway at Grand Canyon West Airport, now one of Arizona's busiest.
On September 28, Gordon will make an appearance at the Hualapai Lodge on Historic Route 66 at 7:00 pm. He will take photos and sign autographs for anyone that eats at the Diamond Creek Restaurant that day (fans to show receipt for photo). The next day, Gordon will take the Hualapai River Runners trip (the only one day Grand Canyon whitewater rafting adventure) with visitors that reserve for that day. Seats are limited and a few fans using the code KG12
while booking in advance will have the chance to be on the same raft as Gordon. Fans will also get an autographed photo when using the code.
Gordon will visit Grand Canyon West on October 25, spend the night in a cabin at the Hualapai Ranch and take photos with overnight guests. On October 26, Gordon will take photos with fans at Grand Canyon West's viewpoints including Eagle Point, home of the Skywalk. Visitors purchasing a package may meet Gordon and those who reserve in advance with promo code KG12
will receive an autographed photo upon check in.
Fans can make reservations and get directions at Hualapai tourism or by calling 1.888.868.9378.
