This week the media has spent attention on the tenth anniversary of 9/11 - a day the United States was attacked by terrorists.
Sadly, close to 3,000 were killed on that fateful Tuesday when America seemed to come to a pause for a time. Commercial airlines were grounded. Wall Street was closed a few days. It was time to grieve.
A Sacrifice of More than 10 Years
During the past decade, things have altered as the result of the attack on American soil. Homeland Security has altered forever how Americans function - just walk through security at an airport.
“United, We Stand”
became the rallying phrase in the days and months after 9/11.
American Indians have be long acquainted with violence and grief. Yet, in the case of this country, American Indians fight in the US military forces at a higher percentage than other racial and ethnic groups.
Even with that American Indians have a different worldview than do others in contemporary times. Ten years, later, please share with us and our readers what 9/11 means to you.
