WASHINGTON DC - Americans have been enduring this summer's heat wave the best way they can. Added to the heat's misery this summer has been the hot debate in our nation's capital city about raising the debt ceiling before this coming Tuesday's deadline.

Last night the House of Representatives narrowly passed legislation to raise the debt ceiling; a short time later the Senate tabled it.

The Native News Network wants to know what American Indians think about the debt ceiling stall by Congress?

"We would not have had the problems if Congress would have eliminated the Bush tax cuts. The rich don't pay their fair share in this country. Furthermore, since President Obama is a person of color, this has gone on too long. It shows him no respect. This has racial overtones."
