Veterans to be Honored at Cherokee Nation Warriors Memorial

Native Brief: TAHLEQUAH, OKLAHOMA - The Cherokee Nation is honoring veterans at the Warriors Memorial on the grounds of the main tribal complex south of Tahlequah on Thursday, November 10, at 10 am. Everyone is invited to attend the festivities that will include a helicopter fly-in, performances by the Sequoyah High School Band and the Cherokee National Youth Choir and appearances by Principal Chief Bill John Baker, Deputy Principal Chief S. Joe Crittenden, Miss Cherokee Sidney Kimble and the Cherokee Nation Color Guard.

Principal Chief Bill John Baker and Deputy Principal Chief S. Joe Crittenden will take part in a wreath laying ceremony, and everyone in attendance is welcome to bring wreaths to decorate the Warriors Memorial in honor of the past and present service given by the country's fighting men and women.

Attending veterans will be invited to sign a panel to be used in the building of the Cherokee Nation Veterans Center that is currently under construction.
