US Senate Indian Affairs Committee to Host Legislative Hearing

US Senate Indian Affairs CommitteeThursday, October 20

WASHINGTON DC - Testimony will be held on Thursday, October 20 by the US Senate Committee on Indian Affairs on numerous bills pending in the Senate.

The following bills will be discussed during the testimony:

  • S. 134, Mescalero Apache Tribe Leasing Authorization Act;
  • S. 399, Blackfeet Water Rights Settlement Act of 2011;
  • S. 1327, A bill to amend the Act of March 1, 1933, to transfer certain authority and resources to the Utah Dineh Corporation, and for other purposes; and
  • S. 1345, Spokane Tribe of Indians of the Spokane Reservation Grand Coulee Dam Equitable Compensation Settlement Act.

Several stakeholders will be present to make testimony on the Senate bills. Among the panelists testifying will elected tribal officials. See list below.
