WASHINGTON DC - Testimony will be held on Wednesday in Hawaii on the subject of economic development at a hearing called, "Strengthening Self-Sufficiency: Overcoming Barriers to Economic Development in Native Communities."

Even though Congress is in their August recess, US Senator Daniel Kahikina Akaka - Democrat, chairman of the US Committee on Indian Affairs, is hosting this field hearing in his home state of Hawaii.

There will be no webcast for this hearing. The time is Hawaii time.
