GREEN BAY, WISCONSIN The "2nd Growing Your Capacity with Federal Contracts" is slated to bring the "largest gathering of federal agency representatives and federal contractors to the Midwest this year," according to Gwen Carr, program manager of First American Capital Corporation PTAC.
PTAC is the acronym for Procurement Technical Assistance Centers.
Washington Comes to Green Bay
"We have worked hard to get people from Washington to commit to this workshop,"
said Carr.
"If people miss it, they will have lost out on a real opportunity to see what is available to them."
As the first Tribal PTAC in Wisconsin, FACC-PTAC is responsible for assisting Tribal and American Indian businesses across seven states to build their capacity to work with federal, state and local government contracting.
Ada Deer, Menominee, the former Assistant Secretary for Indian Affairs, is among those coming to be part of the program. Others include:
Marianna Pardo, deputy director, HUB Zone, United States Small Business Administration;
Anne Mendoza Jennings, economic development specialist, Bureau of Indian Affairs; Ruby Crenshaw Lawrence from the US Department of Defense;
Steve Moffit, partner, Capstone National Partners;
Shawn Lacina, contracting officer, US Forest Service; among others.
Attendees will learn about new government programs, trends and opportunities that will increase their business potential.
Ann Kalyll, regional administrator, General Service Administration will inform attendees of what the government is buying this year and how working with GSA can help to build a strategic piece to company’s or tribal's revenue stream.
Carr says all American Indian tribes, small American Indian-owned and female -owned businesses should send representatives to this event.
