TISHOMINGO, OKLAHOMA It's only 3.2 miles. But if you haven't walked, jogged or run that far in a while, it's time to start training now for the Chickasaw Annual Meeting and Festival 5K Run and Walk to be held September 28 in Tishomingo National Wildlife Refuge.
The competition is another way the Chickasaw Nation promotes fitness, wellness and good health. Best of all, it's free and open to all. Additionally, it gets you up off the sofa and gets you moving toward becoming healthy and fit, and staying that way. And, if you win the competition, that's just icing on the proverbial cake because you gave up icing in order to win the race anyway.
The event kicks off at 8:30 am on that Saturday, September 28, and is the beginning of a week-long Festival that culminates with the Annual Meeting the following Saturday, October 5.
Saturday, September 28 morning of race: 6:30 am - 7:30 am. Registration closes at 7:30 am. Location: Chickasaw Nation Wellness Center, 821 E. 6th Street, Tishomingo, OK, 73460.
Awards will be given to the top three male and female finishers in standard USATF age groups and The top overall male and female finishers.
