Eight Powwows

MINNEAPOLIS - The 4th Annual Thanksgiving Powwow is underway at the Minneapolis American Indian Center, located at 150 Franklin Avenue.

Established in 1975, the Minneapolis American Indian Center is a community center in the heart of the city's Indian community. The Center serves over 10,000 American Indians each year. The Center preserves and supports American Indian cultural traditions through the arts, youth and intergenerational programs.

A Thanksgiving feast was enjoyed for members of the American Indian community.

The traditional powwow continues today and Saturday. Grand Entries today will be at 1:00 pm and 6:00 pm. Tonight there will be a royalty competition for Little Miss Minneapolis, Miss Minneapolis and Brave Minneapolis.

Saturday Grand Entry will be at 1:00 pm.
