WASHINGTON - On Thursday, March 1, the US Senate Committee on Indian Affairs is holding a roundtable called "Protecting our Ancestral Remains, Religious Freedoms, and Sacred Places."

Given the current events at Tom-Kav ancestral burial site in Fallbrook, California where a construction crew last week disturbed the ancestral remains of 19 ancestors last Thursday, the timing is very appropriate to discuss the subject.

The Committee is interested in hearing about the challenges, solutions and successes in protecting our ancestors, religious freedoms and sacred places.

The roundtable will be hosted by Loretta A. Tuell, the Majority Staff Director and Chief Counsel.

RSVPs are encouraged. Please call the Committee if you plan to attend this information sharing roundtable and inform the Committee what issues you are most interested in addressing. The telephone number to reach the US Committee Senate Committee on Indian Affairs is: 1-202-224-2251.

This roundtable will not be webcast.
