OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLAHOMA – The Association of American Indian Physicians invites you to participate in the Program Evaluation 101 Webinar on Friday, September 28, from 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm, cdt.

This webinar will present an overview of program evaluation fundamentals, reasons to evaluate your program, basic evaluation steps and real world examples of successful program evaluations.

The Association of American Indian Physicians' Healthy, Active Native Communities Initiative is funded by the United States Department of Health and Human Services to provide technical assistance and support to American Indian communities nationally to implement policy, systems and environmental change to prevent obesity.

About the Presenters

The expert presenters who will participate the Program Evaluation 101 Webinar are:

John Sciacca, PhD, MPH - Evaluation Specialist

John Sciacca's professional experience includes six years as the Health Education and Administration Officer for the Center for Cultural and Technical Interchange Between East and West in Honolulu, three years as the Health Advocate Program Coordinator for the Purdue University Hospital, and 11 years as Director of the Arizona Health Careers Opportunity Program.

He has held appointments as Professor of Health Sciences at Northern Arizona University and Professor of Public Health at the University of Arizona.

His administrative experiences include appointments as Chair, Department of Health Sciences at Northern Arizona University, Associate Dean, College of Public Health at the University of Arizona, Executive Director, School of Health Professions at Northern Arizona University, and Interim Dean, College of Health and Human Services at Northern Arizona University.

Dr. Sciacca has served as a Director/Commissioner for several health and educational organizations including the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing and the National Association of Peer Programs. He is a program evaluation specialist who has served as the evaluator for dozens of public health programs, including several American Indian health promotion programs.

Gary Lankford, BA - Association of American Indian Physicians Healthy, Active Native Communities Program Director and Monitoring Specialist

Gary Lankford has worked with the Association of American Indian Physicians for 4 years. He began his employ with Association as the Coalition Liaison/Outreach Specialist in the Diabetes Department and now serves as both the Program Director and Monitoring Specialist for the Association of American Indian Physicians Healthy, Active Native Communities program. As Monitoring Specialist, Gary has worked with Dr. John Sciacca on the creation of evaluation materials, collection of data and creation and submission of all quarterly and yearly reporting required by the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Health.
