Rosebud Sioux Hip-Hopster Frank Waln Performs Tonight at Michigan State University

EAST LANSING, MICHIGAN – The North American Indigenous Student organization at Michigan State University is hosting a free concert tonight with Frank Waln of Nake Nula Waun.

Waln will be accompanied by hoop dancer Samsoche Sampson.

The opening act will be performed by singer and songwriter Bobbi Wilson. The event is open to the public.

Frank Waln is a Rosebud Sioux hip-hop artist, who was a Gates Millennium scholar. He studied pre-med at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska before he decided to pursue a full-time performing career. In addition to his songwriting and singing talents, he is an award winning producer. He won the 2010 the Native American Musical Award in the Best Producer category for "Always Ready."

Last year, Waln released a popular track called "Swagged Out Brave Heart of a Lion" that focused on the warrior spirit.
