"Rapid City, We understand you have been carving up our people," Declared Dennis Banks

“The meeting was slap in the face. They talked to us in scripted language. I could have asked them anything and they would have had the same scripted answer,”

said Hall.

“They did not give us anything really,”

Banks told the Native News Network

.
“They told us their hands were tied because of privacy issues between the hospital and patients. I guess they figured their hands were tied.”
“The CEO implied that Vern is lying. He kept saying, 'I would check the truth.' No, he did not call him a liar, but he sure did make it sound as if Vern is not telling the truth about what happened to him in the hospital,”

stated Hall.

Hall was referring to Tim Sughrue, who was in the meeting and serves as the chief executive officer of the Rapid City Regional Hospital.

Citing attorney / client privilege, Chase Iron Eyes declined to be interviewed for this story.

“Rapid City Regional Hospital is an organization of people who have dedicated our lives to healing others. We are deeply committed to providing excellent care to everyone, regardless of race,”

reads a portion of statement issued by the Rapid City Regional Hospital issued to the Native News Network (see accompanying article for full statement).
