Sam Bradford - Cherokee
ST. LOUIS - St. Louis Rams quarterback Sam Bradford, a tribal member of the Cherokee Nation, sustained an injury to his right index finger during the fourth quarter of the season opener's 31-13 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.
The second-year Rams quarterback sustained the injury in during the game when he hit the outstretched hand of Eagles defensive end Aqua Parker immediately after releasing a pass.
Bradford lost feeling in the finger and said after the game the pain isn't overbearing, but he did not have motion in the finger.
An x-ray show the finger was not broken; however it is bruised. The extent of the bruise or how it will impact Bradford's ability to play in Monday night's game against the New York Giants is not known yet.
Bradford is listed as day-to-day, as reported by the "St. Louis Post-Dispatch." Other sports writers report, Bradford will be ready to play on Monday night.
Bradford won the 2008 Heisman Trophy while a quarterback for the Oklahoma Sooners football team. He is a Nike n7 ambassador, who promotes exercise and healthy living for Native youth.
