WASHINGTON The Native Youth Alliance is hosting a pipe ceremony to honor veterans will take place at 12 noon on Sunday, November 18 at Arlington National Cemetery, Section 8, at the Native American Vietnam Memorial.
The Native Youth Alliance has a goal to have the Sunday after Veterans Day named "Native American Veterans of All Conflicts Day," in recognition of the fact that American Indians have the highest military enlistment per capita of any segment of the United States population.
Native Youth Alliance was founded in 1990 as a religious organization and has been incorporated as a non-profit organization since 1993. It strives to ensure that traditional Native American cultural and spiritual ways continue for the coming generations.
