WINDOW ROCK, ARIZONA - On Monday, the president of the Navajo Nation issued a statement applauding President Obama and the administration for the leadership President Obama exhibited and the concentrated efforts in finding Osama bin Laden.
He further issued an alert for Navajo people traveling abroad similar to the alert issued by the United States Department of State.
Below is a portion of the statement issued Monday afternoon:
“On behalf of the Navajo Nation, we are grateful for the courageous service of all United States Armed Forces, including our own Navajo warriors who continue to fight for our freedom every day. Although the war on terror hasn’t ended, I am proud to say our Navajo warriors have done their part in this fight against terror. I also want to express my gratitude and thank all the brave US service men and women for accomplishing this dangerous mission.
I applaud President Obama and the Administration for his leadership and concentrated efforts in finding Osama bin Laden. No one will ever forget September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on America and the heinous crimes Osama bin Laden had committed against humanity.”
