Native Arts Market at Trickster Gallery This Weekend

CHICAGO – If you will be in the Chicago area this weekend, the Trickster Gallery is hosting a Native Arts Market on Saturday, June 30 and Sunday, July 1 from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm both days.

The Native Arts Market will feature items for sale, such as art, jewelry, clothing and music. Native cuisine will be available for purchase, as well.

A new exhibit featuring the Native art work of Nashon Mark Russell opens on Saturday. Russell is a San Carlos Apache tribal citizen. Last weekend, Russell won first place at the Eitejorg Indian Market in Indianapolis.

Guided tours of Trickster's art galleries will be available at 2 pm. There will be a special performance by Native American Music Award winner, Chase Manhattan at 3 pm.

Trickster Gallery opened in 2005 as part of the American Indian Center of Chicago's Arts Program. The American Indian Center is the oldest urban Indian Center in the country, with Trickster being the only Native American owned and operated arts institution in the state.
