New Mass Call-In
ALBUQUERQUE - The Leonard Peltier Defense Offense Committee is asking the Leonard Peltier supporters to conduct a mass call-in to the Federal Bureau of Prisons on behalf of Peltier on Friday, July 15 at 11 am, edt.
The call-in telephone numbers are: 202.307.3198 or 202.514.6650.
The Committee earlier this week asked supporters to flood the telephone lines at CNN to get the news agency to commit to investigating Leonard Peltier's case and his placement into the solitary confinement.
"Nothing is certain, we did confirm with a reporter at the CNN news desk that they have begun in investigating and will be making calls to confirm information" commented Peter Clark of the Committee. "We'll give them some time to see what they actually do."
Clark has been a long time supporter of Leonard Peltier. For the past year and half he has been the chairman of the Albuquerque Chapter of the Leonard Peltier Defense Offense Committee.
In correspondence sent to the Native News Network, Clark writes:
"So it's time to focus our call In efforts to the Bureau of Prisons. Please email and call in everyday, but we will do the coordinated mass call in Friday July 15th at 11am Eastern. Overwhelm them as we did with CNN.Tell them solitary is torture.Tell them the world is watching their inhumane treatment of prisoners. Tell them solitary for Leonard could be his death sentence.Tell them it is obvious that this is retribution - coming less than a day after Oglala Commemoration and Leoanard's statement"
