Labor Day Powwows: The Ho-Chunk Nation Ups the Ante

BLACK RIVER FALLS, WICONSIN – This Saturday the Ho Chunk Nation in Wisconsin will be holding their Labor Day Powwow. As we reported last week, The American Idol Gives Back Foundation will be dedicating the new mobile health clinic for the Ho Chunk Nation.

17 Labor Day Weekend Powwows

This mobile health clinic is the first of its kind in Indian Country. This is a great help to the Ho Chunk Nation and the mobile health clinic will be able to reach many remote communities in the area of the tribe. The dedication of the mobile health clinic will be at 1 pm local time during the Labor Day Powwow on the Andrew Blackhawk Memorial Powwow Grounds.

The Ho Chunk Nation Labor Day Powwow runs from Saturday until Monday and aside from the special dedication will be just like prior years. Dancing and drum contests will be held as well as the tribe coming together to celebrate this great honor. The Ho Chunk Nation has a lot to celebrate and the mobile health clinic is just one big symbol of that.
