LAWTON, OKLAHOMA Actor Johnny Depp, who was named an honorary member of the Comanche Nation in May, served as grand marshal in the 21st Annual Comanche Nation Fair parade on Saturday.

Riding with Depp in a black Chevrolet Camaro convertible - with its top down - was LaDonna Harris, Comanche, who is the founder and president of Americans for Indian Opportunity.
The light rain that fell on Saturday did not deter either Depp or Harris as they waved to those who lined the parade route.
The tribe did not publicize the event so that people would simply show up to see the Hollywood star.
Depp, who grew up in Kentucky, has claimed in the past he has Cherokee in his lineage, but cannot document being American Indian.
He plays Tonto in The Lone Ranger
that will be released by next year. Filming for the movie began this past February in New Mexico.
