Bikes and BBQ
MT. PLEASANT, MICHIGAN - Regardless of whether you ride an Indian, Harley Davidson or a Honda motorcycle, you are wanted with your bike this Sunday at for the 3rd Annual Riders Against Domestic Violence, organized by the Domestic Violence Program of the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe of Michigan.
"Anyone is welcome," said Amanda Dolan, Domestic Violence Specialist in the Behavioral Health program of the Saginaw Chipewa Tribe. "The first year we had 25 bikers. Last year, we had 35 and this year we want to see the number grow"
The bike route takes approximately four hours and is 120 miles long.
Riders should be ready for the beginning of the ride at 1 pm on Sunday, August 21. The Ride begins with a send-off ceremony at the Tribe's Soaring Eagle Casino and Resort in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan.
The send-off is followed by a Poker Run Route and bikers will return to the Tribe's Housing Pavilion for games, music and BBQ. The event is slated to end by 6 pm.
There is a $25 registration fee; $20 fee if you make a donation of a non-perishable item or gift card. Those interested riding with a rider will be charged $30. All proceeds from the ride go to assist domestic violence survivors to live a life free from violence.
