Three Fires Powwow
GRAND RAPIDS - Riverside Park, on the shores of the Grand River, is home of the "Homecoming of the Three Fires Powwow." This powwow celebrates the traditions of the three indigenous tribes to Michigan: Chippewa, Ottawa and Potawatomi.
Traditional American Indian drumming and dancing will be featured. Traders will be on hand selling their handmade American Indian items, such as black ash baskets, beads, and drums. American Indian food fare will be available at several trader booths.
Grand Entries will begin at 1 pm and 6 pm on Saturday, June 11. One Grand Entry will take place at noon on Sunday, June 12. Free admission and parking.
The "Homecoming of the Three Fires" Powwow is an alcohol- and drug-free event. For safety reasons, no dogs are allowed.
