VALLEJO, CALIFORNIA - Organizers of the spiritual encampment at Sogorea Te sacred burial site, commonly known as Glen Cove, issued a plea for support and supplies. Specifically, food and firewood supplies are running low.

"At this time, we are re-issuing the urgent call for warriors to join us at Sogorea Te who are able to commit themselves to being present on the land for 3 days to a week or more, in support of the ongoing ceremony. Please contact us if you are in need of assistance with transportation," was part of the release issued on Sunday to the media and other concerned parties.

“We are in need of money, as well,”

said Norman "Wounded Knee" DeOcampo (Miwuk). "It costs money to keep the spiritual encampment going. We have to pay for the portable toilets and other items. We have an immediate need."

The protesters have been at Sogorea Te to oppose the Greater Vallejo Recreation District’s plan to spend $1.5 million on the proposed park that, if constructed, will have 15 parking spaces and two toilets at the Sogorea Te sacred burial site, which is 25 miles from San Francisco.
