LEECH LAKE INDIAN RESERVATION American Indian Movement co-founder Dennis Banks turns 75 on April 12, but his birthday will be officially celebrated on Friday, the 13th.
“People don't like to celebrate birthdays on Thursdays, so we decided we would celebrate my birthday on Friday, the 13th.”
Stated Banks to the Native News Network on Sunday evening with laughter in his voice.
“We want as many people who want to come to join us.”
The Celebration for Dennis Banks' 75th Birthday will be hosted by Russell Means, comedian Charlie Hill and Banks' brother, Mark Banks, at the Northern Lights Casino on the Leech Lake Indian Reservation.
