Citizen Potawatomi Mary Killman is Trying to Swim to an Olympic Medal

LONDON, ENGLAND – On Sunday, in their quest for a Gold Medal, Citizen Potawatomi Nation citizen Mary Killman and her Synchronized Swimming partner Mariya Koroleva performed the technical routine in women's duets.

Duets Synchronized Swimming Technical Routine Sunday

The duo, known as "MK2", because they share the same initials were first to compete on Sunday. They scored 43.700 for execution and 44.200 for overall impression. Their total score was 87.900.

The MK2 duo is in 10th place as they enter today's qualification free routine. Scores from Sunday and Monday will be combined for a total score. The top 12 duets of 24 that are competing will continue to the final on Tuesday.

All scores will accumulate as competition continues. The duet team with the highest total will win the Gold Medal in Synchronized Swimming.

Earlier this year, the MK2 duo won the Swiss Open; was fourth in the Spanish Open and in the Spanish Winter Open came in third.

Born in Ada, Oklahoma, Killman, 21, has been participating in Synchro for the past ten years. She currently lives in Santa Clara, California, but lists McKinney, Texas as her hometown.
