ISABELLA INDIAN RESERVATION Tribal Police arrested Anthony M. Bennett, 20, at 6:30 pm at the home of his sister on the Isabella reservation. A family member, who wishes to remain anonymous, confirmed the arrest to the Native News Network. Bennett was taken to Tribal Police Headquarters.
Police continue to search home where 4 year old Carnel Chamberlain
body has reportedly been found.
The house where the body, believed to be that of 4 year old Carnel Chamberlain, was discovered on the Tomah Street remains a crime scene. Police have the neighborhood closed off to the public and have brought in lights and other equipment. As evening sets in, Native News Network remains at the scene.
Since Saturday the case had increasingly turned away from a child who had wandered off into the woods toward a suspicion of foul play.
The Mother, Jaimee Chamberlain's, now ex-boyfriend Bennett, had been named a person of interest in this case. He had reportedly not been cooperative with law enforcement. He has refused to answer some of the simplest questions relating to Carnel's disappearance. Bennett has refused to take a polygraph test. Carnel's mother has taken a polygraph test and reportedly passed it.

Young Carnel was in the care of his mother's boyfriend, Bennett, who is a tribal member, while she was working. The child's mother, Jaimee Chamberlain, reported Carnel missing at 10:12 pm after she arrived home from working at the nearby Soaring Eagle Casino restaurant.
The Saginaw Chippewa Tribal Police department was serving as the lead law enforcement agency. The Chamberlain home is on Indian trust land. The FBI is part of the investigation, as well as other law enforcement agencies from around Michigan.
