Community Powwow at 5 pm
CHICAGO - The American Indian community in Chicago is coming together tonight to make sure American Indian students are ready for school with a Back to School Community Powwow at the American Indian Center of Chicago, located at 1630 West Wilson, Avenue on Chicago's north side.
American Indian students will receive school supplies and immunizations, if needed. Parents or guardians are asked to bring their child's shot record. Representatives from the American Indian Health Service of Chicago, Inc. and the Department of Public Health Immunization Program will be on hand to provide required immunizations.
There will be a community potluck at 5 pm.
Grand Entry for the community powwow will begin at 7 pm.
