SCHAUMBURG, ILLINOIS - Many people don't realize that in 1491, before Columbus arrived in the Western Hemisphere, more people lived in the Americas than in Europe.
In 1492, the Americas were not a pristine wilderness but a crowded and managed landscape according to the "National Geographic" documentary called "America Before Columbus," which is being screened at Trickster Gallery in Schaumburg this Saturday, October 8 from 1-3 pm cdt.
"America Before Columbus" is documentary film that was released in 2009. It is a film that takes a look at the two continents - North and South America - before Christopher Columbus arrived in the Caribbean.
The film is narrated by Victor Garber. It was written and directed by Cristina Trebbi and Fabian Wienke. The total length of the film is 90 minutes.
Trickster Gallery is located at 190 South Roselle Road, Schaumburg, Illinois.
Trickster Gallery is owned and operated by the American Indian Center of Chicago, the oldest urban American Indian center in the country.
