Acting Chief of Staff Named by Navajo President Shelly

WINDOW ROCK, ARIZONA – Navajo Nation President Ben Shelly appointed an acting chief of staff in a letter on Monday morning.

Isabelle Walker, Western Agency liaison for the Shelly/Jim Administration, was named acting chief of staff. Her duties include managing the daily operations of the Office of the President and Vice President.

“Our administration is stable and we will continue to bring forward change to our government so it can better serve the people of the Navajo Nation,”

President Shelly said.

Walker's appointment lasts until a permanent chief of staff is hired.

“Isabelle knows what needs to be done. Our office will continue to work on projects that are a part of this administration's goals and platforms,”

President Shelly said.

The Navajo Nation is the largest tribe in terms of population with nearly 320,000 members. The Navajo Nation also has the largest reservation spanning more than 27,000 square miles.
